Privacy Policy

KizuneAI is a private place, and your conversations here are personal. This Privacy Policy explains what KizuneAI collects, how we use it, who helps us run the Service, and the control you have over your data. KizuneAI is operated by Arclight Dynamics(“we,” “us,” “our”) at kizuneai.com. KizuneAI is for adults 18 and older.

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.

Conversations. We store the messages you exchange with your companions so your conversations persist and continue naturally over time.

Derived memories and embeddings. To make companions feel personal, KizuneAIderives “memories” from your conversations — facts about you (such as your name or preferences) and summaries of past exchanges (“episodic” memories). Some of this is stored as vector embeddings: numerical representations that let a companion recall relevant moments. These memories are used only to personalize your experience.

Usage and analytics. We collect basic usage information — pages viewed, general activity, device and browser details — through Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used and to keep it running well.

Payment metadata. If you subscribe to Pro, our payment processor Stripe handles your card details. We receive only limited billing metadata (such as subscription status and the fact that a payment succeeded or failed). We never see or store your full card number.

• To operate the Service — authenticate you, deliver conversations, and keep companions responsive across sessions.
• To personalize your companions using the memories and embeddings derived from your conversations.
• To process subscriptions and billing through Stripe and manage your tier and message limits.
• To send transactional emails (such as account and billing notices) through our email provider.
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, debug problems, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your private conversations to advertise to you.

To run KizuneAI we rely on a small set of trusted providers who process data on our behalf. Importantly, the content of your messages and derived memories may be sent to model and embedding providers so that a companion can generate a response — this is how the Service works.

• Anthropic (Claude), through a model provider — generates companion responses from your conversation and relevant memories.
• OpenAI — generates the vector embeddings used for memory recall.
• Stripe — processes payments and manages subscriptions.
• Google Analytics — provides aggregate usage analytics.
• Resend — delivers transactional email.
• Our hosting provider — a private virtual server that runs the application and database.

These providers are permitted to use your data only to provide their service to us. We use NextAuth to manage authentication sessions.

We keep your account information, conversations, and derived memories for as long as your account is active, so your companions can remember you. You can delete individual memories at any time, or delete your entire account. When you delete your account, we remove your conversations and derived memories from our systems, and we instruct our processors to do the same, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal, tax, or security obligations.

You are in control of your data:

• View, edit, and delete memories in Settings → Memory. You can see what a companion remembers about you and change or remove it.
• Export your datain Settings → Privacy & data.
• Delete your account and datain Settings → Privacy & data. We honor deletion requests.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including rights to access, correct, or restrict processing of your data. To exercise any of these, use the Settings tools above or contact us at privacy@kizuneai.com.

We protect your data with industry-standard measures. Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), stored data is encrypted at rest, and passwords are stored only as salted hashes — never in plain text. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information and to limit access to it. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us right away.

KizuneAI uses a small number of cookies. A session authentication cookie (set by NextAuth) keeps you logged in — this is essential for the Service to function. Google Analytics sets cookies to measure aggregate usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling the authentication cookie will prevent you from signing in.

KizuneAI is intended only for adults aged 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from someone under 18, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has used KizuneAI, please contact us at privacy@kizuneai.com.

KizuneAI is operated from the United States, and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those in your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves or as laws change. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of KizuneAI after an update means you accept the revised policy.
